PRP stands for Plasma rich protein. A PRP facial is minimally invasive aesthetic treatment where plasma and platelets from your blood are microinjected into your skin.
This procedure is used to treat skin imperfections, reverse the signs of aging, and rejuvenate the skin.
The platelet-rich plasma (PRP) Facial may reduce the appearance of scars, wrinkles, sun damage, and dark circles, and produce younger, healthier looking skin.

PRP therapy is done using your own blood. The procedure is simple and effective.
You’re a good candidate for the PRP facial if you have uneven skin tone, acne scars, hyperpigmentation, fine lines, wrinkles and other signs of aging. The best way to find out if PRP is right for you is to have an aesthetic dermatology evaluation.
What are the side effects of getting a PRP facial?
Inflammation, including swelling and redness, are the most common side effects. They typically appear immediately after the procedure and clear within four to six days. You’ll also want to avoid sun exposure, harsh skin treatments and heavy makeup during this time. It’s important that you don’t rub or pick at your face.

How Many facials do I need?
If you decide to have a PRP facial, prepare to have your blood drawn. You can also expect some pain and slight post-treatment bruising from the micro needling. For best results, you will need one or two treatments about two months apart.
Is PRP facial FDA approved?
While PRP is not FDA-approved it can be legally offered in the clinic off-label in the USA.
Is there any downtime after a PRP facial?
The redness disappears on the day after treatment, but some patients will experience slight swelling and rough texture of the skin. By day 3, the swelling usually passes, but the rough texture may remain for up to a week. The downtime required after this treatment is minimal, if any.
Does a PRP facial hurt?
Some patients do experience mild pain particularly around sensitive areas like the hairline, mouth, and eyes. However numbing cream is applied to the face prior to the treatment to feel little to no pain.
How much does a PRP Facial cost?
The average cost for a PRP facial is around $1,300. One of the main expenses involved is the micro needling process, which generally accounts for around $800. Next is the PRP fee at around $500 which involves the extraction and application of your blood.
